Tell Congress: One Size Does Not Fit All When Considering Food Safety Bills
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a food safety bill that fails to factor in the emergence of a healthy, wholesome local food economy across the country. Dakota Rural Action is working in conjunction with the Western Organization of Resource Councils (WORC) to ensure that the Federal Food Safety Bill (currently in the Senate) does not hamper small farmers and emerging local food markets. The time is now to fix this in the Senate, but S. 510 needs a lot of work. Visit WORC's talking points and call or meet with your Senators.
