October is here, the snow is flying, and we are getting ready for DRA’s 33rd Annual Meeting! It’s our chance to come together as friends and colleagues and take stock of ourselves, our work and organization. We’ll examine issues we’re facing as a state and celebrate your hard work and commitment to social justice, grassroots organizing, and rural community in South Dakota.

    This year’s meeting will be held virtually over Zoom & broken into 3 sessions, 3 hours per session. Zoom links will be emailed out to registrants. This is not a public event, so please do not share the links. Meeting Packets with the full Agenda will be mailed to you.

    We invite all members to join. Please note in the registration below if you require technical assistance or do not have easy access to internet or phone service.

Dakota Rural Action is accepting updates to resolutions as well as new resolutions through October 23rd. 

  • Because of the pandemic and our plans to have an online annual meeting we are accepting new resolutions or updated resolutions through the online form found HERE! OR by emailing them to
  • Existing resolutions can be found HERE!

After October 23rd, the new and updated resolutions will be shared with the membership for further comment. A final vote on the package will be taken at our annual meeting November 16th.


Dakota Rural Action’s officers and at large members of the board are elected for two year terms and elections are staggered each year. This year we are electing the Vice Chairperson currently held by Andy Johnson, Spearfish; the Treasurer currently held by Stephanie Peterson, Brandon and the Eastern SD At-Large Representatives Stacy Roberts, Carpenter and Nick Nemec, Holabird.

  • In addition to these board positions, each chapter of Dakota Rural Action elects two representatives to the state board of directors. If you have any questions about the board, it’s make up or how it works, please contact Frank.

Nominate your fellow members in recognition of their hard work, commitment and dedication to build the organization and uphold the values and vision on which DAKOTA RURAL ACTION was founded.

We will compile top nominations and send out a form via email for the final vote. The 2020 Member of the Year will be announced at the Annual Meeting.
