IT’S TIME TO CHOOSE OUR MEMBER OF THE YEAR! And what a year it has been! :O
Show your appreciation for the DRA member you think MOST deserves some extra love and adulation this year. You know the one! Nominate your fellow members in recognition of their hard work, commitment and dedication to build the organization and uphold the values and vision on which DAKOTA RURAL ACTION was founded.
Can’t choose just one? Use the form and submit as many nominations as you like!
Nominations are due by end of day on Friday, September 24.
We will compile top nominations and send out a form via email for the final vote. The 2021 Member of the Year will be announced at the Annual Meeting.
Submit New & Updated Resolutions!
During the Business Meeting DRA members will have an opportunity to vote on and pass new resolutions or updates to current resolutions. Making Resolutions is a way for DRA to articulate values, and going through a process to confirm and publicly share them is an extremely helpful framing exercise that can guide our actions as an organization and help us and others assess where we are making progress and where we need to focus more energy.

Potential resolutions are due by end of day on Friday, September 24, so that we have time to include them in the Annual Meeting Packet.
We will submit draft resolutions to a vote by members at the Annual Meeting on Friday, October 8.
+++ A note on in person events. As we approach the DRA Annual meeting we as staff and leaders preparing must consider the health and safety of attendees and staff at every step of the planning process. Guidance from the CDC provides a critical roadmap for resuming events in the U.S., with details on how to evaluate the risk levels and key actions that can help prevent the spread of the virus. Cleanliness protocols are also covered.
The CDC guidelines encourage event organizers to follow state and local regulations on gatherings (updates on Covid-19 restrictions and health updates are being monitored). Meeting planners are continually monitoring the outbreak and making adjustments to the event plan as needed. Recognizing that some communities are more impacted than others, that our protocols and procedures may vary on the hierarchy of needs.
This year’s Annual Meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. Additional events around the annual meeting will be in person. While we would love to be with you all again, we realize that not all members are comfortable attending in person gatherings. And for those members we will offer options to participate virtually as much as possible.
We request that ALL members who do choose to attend in person are fully vaccinated. All in person events will be outdoors. Social distancing and masking observed per CDC recommendations.
This year’s Business Meeting will be held virtually over Zoom. Zoom links will be emailed out to registrants. The virtual Business Meeting open to all DRA members. It is not a public event, so please do not share the links. Meeting Packets with the full Agenda will be provided via mail or digitally if preferred.
Saturday’s events will include in-person farm tour(s) around the Sioux Falls area. The farm tours will be live streamed as well. We will cap off the evening with a Celebration & Hog Roast hosted by Fruit of the Coop in Brandon.
We invite all members to join in whatever capacity they are most comfortable with, for all or part of the events. Please note in the registration below which parts you will be attending and if you require technical assistance, have specific technical concerns or questions, or do not have easy access to internet or phone service.
***Please note that we are closely monitoring COVID spread in the state, and that the situation remains fluid. All events are subject to change based on current information, CDC recommendations, etc.
