Farmer Network Field Day #1

Cliff’s Pasture Walk & Solstice Gathering

You’re invited to Cliff’s Pasture Walk and Solstice Gathering on SUNDAY, June 23rd at 5pm outside of Gary, SD. Come see a grassfed beef operation, learn about soils and grasses, and enjoy a bonfire and potluck. Email ccmillsapps@gmail.com to RSVP.

Dakota Rural Action’s Farmer Network hosts a series of farm tours and skill sessions every summer. This series is an extension of the Farm Beginnings class schedule and is open to all Farmer Network members

From Cliff:

If the weather is decent I will have my annual solstice gathering on the 23rd of June. Let me know if you plan on making it. We will take a pasture walk, talk about grasses, soils, wildlife, or whatever beginning about 5pm. If you come a little later, you will have to hunt us down. There will be a few mosquitoes, but we will get a bonfire going. I’ll grill some hamburgers, and have some plastic plates and such. You will need to bring whatever you want to drink, and if you want to share some of your garden surplus, please bring along a dish.

Directions: From CLEAR LAKE… go 7 miles east on Hwy 22. Take the paved road north ¾ miles and turn into the pasture entrance on the east side. Driveway will take you past a corral to my pond and garden.

From CANBY… take Hwy 68, which becomes Hwy 22 at the SD border, past the turnoff to Gary 4 miles to the paved north south road. Take the road north ¾ mile and turn into the pasture entrance on the east side. Driveway will take you past a corral to my pond and garden.
