At our 25th Annual Meeting & Celebration on November 9 & 10 in Brookings, SD, members spent a portion of our business meeting updating our resolutions. Dakota Rural Action’s 2012 Adopted Resolutions are a guide for our members on how we stand on certain issues.

Our resolutions are divided into Immediate Action and Standing Resolutions. Immediate Action Resolutions relate to a campaign we are currently working on and Standing reflects how Dakota Rural Action feels about an issue but does not relate to a current campaign.

Resolutions are reviewed every year at our annual meeting by our members and board of directors. Decisions around additions, edits, and removal of resolutions occurs when there is a need to add new resolutions to reflect our position on a new issues, to update our position on an issue, or to strike from the books something that is no longer an issue.

Several changes were made to the 2012 Adopted Resolutions, including clarifying the meaning on one standing resolution (#7) and moving an immediate action resolution to standing (#17). Also, a new standing resolution was brought forward and passed (#18).

Our 25th Annual Meeting was a huge success because of you – our members. On this holiday weekend we would like to thank you for your continued support.
