Powertech Uranium Large Scale Mining Permit Hearing

 

Just a few updates for you as the hearing for the large scale mining permit for Powertech Uranium unfolds this week in Rapid City, SD for the proposed Dewey-Burdock In Situ Leach Uranium mine located in the Southern Black Hills in Fall River County.

2. The hearing moves to the Rapid City Civic Center for Friday, September 27 for the last day of the hearing this week. It will start at 9 am in the Alpine Ponderosa Room.

 

3. The South Dakota State Medical Association has come out in opposition of uranium mining in the Black Hills in direct response to Powertech’s proposal. This is the 2nd statewide medical association (CO) to publicly oppose uranium mining in response to a Powertech ISL uranium mining proposal in the past six years. Read more about it.

 

4. The SD Board of Minerals and Environment has accepted the Rapid City City Council resolution of “grave concern” into the public comment portion of the proceedings after initially declining their petition to be included. Read more about it.
